We are a research group with a dual relation to the Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences and the Department of Neuroscience and Pharmacology at University of Copenhagen. This dual background is optimal for addressing the key interest of the research group which is ´exercise/movement and the nervous system.
A key strength of the research group is that we have the skills and resources to investigate fundamental research questions from molecule to man. This translational approach has resulted in a number of non-invasive electrophysiological techniques that we use to evaluate the effect of exercise and rehabilitation programs. Through animal models, studies on healthy subjects and patients, we aim to better understand the neural control of movement in health and disease.
